About Samira

Healthcare systems cannot redesign themselves around population need if they do not hear from the populations they serve. Samira Ben Omar has spent over 25 years making sure those voices are heard, understood, and acted upon.

Samira has extensive experience across the NHS, local authority, and community and voluntary sectors. She is an experienced consultant with specialist expertise in equality, health equity, and community-led collaborations. She has facilitated large-scale national programmes and local grassroots community networks, advising national, regional, and local organisations on leadership approaches to improve equality, diversity, and inclusion.

She works in the space between systems and communities, facilitating the conversations that create real change.

Samira co-founded the Community Champions Programme in North West London and co-founded Community Voices, a social movement focusing on social infrastructures during and after COVID. She worked closely with the Grenfell community to facilitate local conversations and amplify the voices of families affected by the disaster. She was named one of the 50 most influential Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people in health by the HSJ in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

At Strasys, Samira ensures that the firm's Decision Intelligence approach is grounded in the lived experience of communities. She brings the perspective that data alone cannot capture: the human stories, the systemic barriers, and the community assets that shape how health systems need to be redesigned. She is a Trustee at the Nuffield Trust, an Associate at the Centre for Population Health, a Board Member at New Local, and a member of the King's Fund General Advisory Council.
